Frequently asked questions

What is the best age to start taking swim lessons?

We encourage starting swim lessons as early as 6 months old. At this age, babies can begin learning foundational survival skills through guided practice in the water. These early lessons focus on building comfort, trust, bonding with their instructor, and developing muscle memory—all of which lay the groundwork for future water safety, confidence, and skill development.

The earlier children are introduced to the water, the more comfortable, confident, and safe they tend to become as they grow.

That said, it’s never too late to learn. We also offer swim lessons for adults with little or no experience, including those who experience water anxiety. Whether your goal is to build confidence, overcome fear, improve safety, or enjoy swimming as a form of exercise, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

6 months – 2 years
Focus on water comfort, bonding, and early muscle memory in a 20-minute lesson. Infants begin developing foundational water safety and survival skills, either independently or with the support of a parent or guardian, with an emphasis on floating and water awareness.

2 – 4 years
Children work toward independent swimming with an instructor while developing basic swim skills and reinforcing essential water safety and survival techniques in 20-minute lesson.

4 years to adults
Swimmers build greater independence by combining survival skills with technical stroke development, increasing endurance, and safely swimming longer distances with confidence learning in 40–60-minute lessons.

What if I don't have my own pool?

If you don't have your own pool for our swim lesson services, please provide your area code to us as our instructor may have access to a pool in your area.

Do you provide group lessons? How does small group lessons work?

Yes, we provide small group lessons for swim lessons!!! Each of our small group lessons are beneficial to teach 2-4 participants per lesson.

All group members must be similar in age and have comparable swim experience. This helps ensure lessons run smoothly and at a consistent pace, allowing everyone to learn and enjoy the class effectively.

Students participating independently in small group lessons must be 4 years of age or older.

What if my child or myself is afraid of the water?

This is common with some participants. Our instructor is trained to facilitate patiently and gently lessons, with fearful participants to build confidence over time and be ready to start learning proper techniques on water safety and learn to swim.

What if my child cries during the swim lesson?

This is a normal behavior often seen in babies and young children who are new to swim lessons or unfamiliar with the water. It’s a natural self-defense that occurs when a student feels uncomfortable, fearful, or hesitant in a new environment or to try a new skill.

As students begin to build trust with our instructor and feel more secure, they typically become more comfortable and start making progress in their swim skills. The key to helping participants move past the initial fear of the water and trying something new, is consistency.

What happens if a kid walks out of the pool?

This can happen, and the best response is for the parent to immediately and calmly walk the child back to the pool. This is an important learning moment for the child—to understand that we don’t give up when things feel difficult or unfamiliar.

It’s also an opportunity to reinforce the rules. When children know the expectations and see that adults are consistent, they begin to feel safe and supported. By guiding your child back into the water, you’re sending a clear message: this is a safe environment, and you trust the process.

How many lessons does it take to learn how to swim?

This is a common question, and the answer varies from person to person. Progress depends on several factors, including comfort in the water, consistency of practice, and individual learning ability. Some students develop skills quickly, while others need additional time to confidently master essential survival skills—such as rolling onto their back—or to learn proper swim stroke mechanics and swim longer distances.

To build consistency and effectively reinforce skills, we generally recommend a minimum commitment of 1–2 months of lessons. For new and current students, we recommend our students to take swim lessons two to four days a week. As with any skill, more consistent practice leads to better and faster results.

Do you provide swim lessons to anyone with disabilities?

What are the Seasonal Group Swim Lessons

Our Seasonal Group Swim Lessons are offered as a four-week intensive program, meeting twice per week in a premium, structured learning environment. Programs are available during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons.

Lessons are organized into four age- and skill-based groups: Little Explorers (ages 2–4), Beginners (ages 4–10), Intermediate Swimmers (ages 4 and up), and Adults (ages 18 and up). All sessions are held in a heated pool to ensure comfort and an extended swim season.
